Daniel Romer grew up in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Here he gives us an insight into his life at Daemen College.

After growing up in Amsterdam, the Netherlands I decided to study abroad in the USA. I wanted to gain some life experience and figure out what I wanted to do with my future. After attending a public institution in upstate New York for three semesters, I decided to transfer to Daemen College and I have felt right at home ever since.

Daemen College is a beautiful small-sized private college in Amherst, NY.

From the moment I set foot on campus, it felt like everybody tried to make me feel at home; I could not have had a better welcome.

After being here for a year I can say that I made the right decision by choosing Daemen College.

The teachers are very friendly, helpful, and most of all, very approachable. They are always available for any questions or concerns that may come up, and if they do not have time, they will make the time to help.

I remember one instance where I had to do a marketing project and I did not understand it. So my professor met with me for a couple of hours to go over the entire project. He helped me tremendously, which is really how most of the professors are.

The student body is varied, and I had no problems making friends and fitting in with students.

In my experience, everybody is very friendly and interested in my culture. Knowing that I am not from around here they will ask about life at home and about how I like it in the US.

The reason I like Daemen is that it is small, it is easy to meet people and make friends and the professors are really nice and helpful. I do not think that I could have picked a better place to get my education.
