    SUNY Fredonia is a comprehensive, public, liberal arts university in western New York that offers bachelor’s and master’s degree and advanced certificate programs. With a founding date of 1826, SUNY Fredonia is among the oldest universities in the SUNY system.


    The university has continually ranked as a ‘Best University’ in U.S. News & World Report since 1989. This tradition of success continues as SUNY Fredonia earned the 12th spot among Top Public Universities in the North in the 2008 edition of ‘America’s Best Colleges, published by U.S. News & World Report.

    SUNY Fredonia offers class sizes that are small and engaging. Our average class size is 24 students and our student to teacher ratio is 16:1. This allows for a personal learning environment and opportunities for you to find academic assistance when needed.


    Fredonia is a wireless campus, with both Mac and PC computer labs for student use. Students within each department have the ability to explore a variety of new and emerging technologies within their field of study.


    Academic excellence relies on diversity- of backgrounds, perspectives, and ideas- and at Fredonia, you are an important part of a dynamic campus. You have opportunities to meet and live with people from different backgrounds and learn from a wide variety of speakers on campus.     Fredonia is a community robust in activities and events. The Student Association is the governing body for over 150 Student Organizations on campus. These include Academic Honor Societies, music ensembles and even club sports.

    SUNY Fredonia offers a top-tier education at an affordable price.


    SUNY Fredonia works closely with families to make our college an affordable option. All students are encouraged to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as close to January 1st as possible.


    85% of Students receive Financial Aid and the average student aid package is $9,583.


    Your application to Fredonia, serves as your application for incoming freshmen scholarship. No additional applications are needed. Scholarship recipients will be notified on a rolling basis beginning February 15, 2012 with a response date of May 1, 2012. Scholarship review continues until all awards are offered and accepted.

    SUNY Fredonia participates in Rolling Admissions. Freshmen and Transfer applicants are encouraged to apply via the SUNY Application or Common Application.


    Freshmen applicants are required to submit an essay
    for admission.
