The USA is the world's number one study abroad destination with some 20% of international students choosing to study there. Here are the key reasons to consider a stateside education:
Because it's America!
Who wouldn't want to watch the LA Lakers, climb the Empire State Building, walk down Fifth Avenue, take in a Broadway musical, play the slots in Vegas or fly over the Grand Canyon?
We rest our case.
Emphasis on teaching
Widely considered to have one of the best education systems in the world, a degree from the USA is seriously impressive. Weekly professor-student contact time of 15-20 hours is the norm, so too are state-of-the-art facilities.
If you're a Master's or PhD student it's likely you'll be taught by leading researchers and Nobel Prize winners from around the world.

Harvard's eye-wateringly expensive $35,000 yearly tuition fees may not seem particularly accessible, but most international students will benefit from financial assistance.
Once you factor in the many scholarships, assistantships, tuition waivers, grants and loans, a US education starts to become a more realistic prospect.

Opportunities to work in the USA
Studying in the USA makes it easier to work in the USA. (OPT) Optional Practical Training allows students to work for 40 hours per week leading to permanent employment for many students.
The H1B temporary work permit allows foreign nationals to work in occupations like software, engineering, teaching, accounting or marketing.

A flexible approach
If you're not sure which academic route you'd like to take, or you think you'd appreciate a system which allows you to pursue interesting paths and new inspirations, the American system would be perfect for you.
American degrees start off quite broad and allow you to hone in on the subject that suits you as the years progress. That way, you can take longer figuring out what you are best at.
