What is Environmental Engineering

page:

Environmental engineering is a branch of engineering that uses the same principles and methods as traditional engineering, but in a way which is designed to improve and protect the natural environment.

The day-to-day work of an environmental engineer can involve monitoring the effect of human activity and technological development on the environment and developing and recommending solutions to any problems they uncover.

This can involve projects around waste management, water supply treatment, air pollution management and bioremediation. The job of an environmental engineer is varied and rewarding.
