I don’t trust atoms…I heard they make up everything. Chemistry is the science of matter. The foods we eat, the clothes we wear, the technologies we use – they all depend on chemistry. With a chemistry degree you could go on to specialise in distinctions such as biotechnology, chemical engineering, organic chemistry, nanotechnology or polymer chemistry.

Due to the in-depth requirements of mathematics and applied sciences, a background in these subjects, either in college or A-levels will be essential to success within this distinction.

A degree in chemistry leads to numerous fields in the applied sciences. Some options within the scientific industry include analytical chemist, chemical engineer, forensic scientist, and pharmacologist. This degree could be useful in positions such as an environmental consultant, patent attorney, and a toxicologist.
