“Gabby recommends that students do some research into the different roles available in this expansive industry.”

Gabby Daniels is the Revenue Manager with the Mantra group, which is based on the Gold Coast.  Graduating 10 years ago in hotel management at South East Queensland, Gabby has worked in many areas of the tourism business before settling into revenue management as her ideal role.

Gabby recommends that students do some research into the different roles available in this expansive industry.

“The roles and professional opportunities are massive, because the industry is always changing", she said. Roles within tourism are as varied as the number and type of venues and locations, as long as you are prepared to work hard and give it your best.

“Mine is a corporate role, as I do the day to day revenue reports and forecasts for the Mantra group and present them to the general managers, so that we can apply them across the business and its various departments”.

“Finding the right people to fit these roles can be a difficult task", she said, "so I am always on the lookout for good revenue managers”.
