Nora Augustine - “The Magnificent Lady Cardinals”

Nora Augustine

Nora Augustine, Psychology student, blogs about her journey from Tanzania to New York's SUNY Plattsburgh.

There is a lot of work that goes into orchestrating the perfect game. Behind the scenes, there is a lot of practice, workout and self-control. This and so much more makes the beautiful women ice hockey team for my college.

Guided by Coach Kevin Houle and assistant coach Nicole Goguen, the young ladies in this team are beautiful and kind, but don't be fooled, on ice the ladies put down a tough ice hockey game.

The best thing about the games that these ladies always play is in their technique. They are smooth operators; on ice they push the puck with a speed of elegance, a touch of power and killer puck-maneuvers to take out most of their opponents. The games they play not only reflect character, but commitment and love of the sport.

Most importantly, their games show character, trust, and dependability that the entire team puts in to produce the results on ice. I take it an honor to be a videographer for these ladies (I film their matches so that they can refer to them for training); I think their opponents admire them too.

There really aren't words to express the way the magnificent lady cardinals play. I hope whoever is reading this gets the opportunity to catch them in action, because they truly are the best team in our college and out there.

Keep up the good job ladies!
