We spoke to Director of International Education Programme at College of the Desert (CoD), Cody McCabe about his favourite parts of working with international students and find out more about the process of applying to study abroad in the US.

If you were to sum up your job role in one sentence, what would it be?

My role is to ensure the success of College of the Desert’s international applicants, students, and recent graduates.

How many people work within your department?

Our International Education Program has five excellent professional staff members and four talented student workers.

Can you describe your typical day working in the international office at College of the Desert?

A typical day in the office is usually 11-12 hours of meetings with students, faculty, and staff combined with over 100 emails, about a dozen phone calls, and work on several projects related to enrolling and supporting international students at COD. Many days of the year are spent overseas meeting with potential students, parents, counselors, advisors, and agents.
