The Student Design Project
ASHRAE (The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) encourages students to get more involved in activities that work towards a sustainable future. To entice them, ASHRAE organises competitions dedicated to students who need to form teams and implement an integrated building design process to promote sustainable buildings. There are four competitions and many of them expect young people to learn more about the core mechanical systems. Given the range of categories, deadlines also vary. For each of these contests, winners can take home up to $2,000, including many extra goodies. Know everything about ASHRAE competitions.
